Fine finishing on millwork and railings
Wainscoting, crown, coffered ceilings, built-ins and stair railings, sprayed or brushed to a finish that reads as furniture rather than construction. This is careful, slow work and we quote it that way.
Fine finishing for custom homes, estate properties and village houses.
Ottawa House & Cabinet Painting serves Manotick, Mahogany, Long Island, Kars, Greely and Osgoode — interior and exterior painting, kitchen cabinet refinishing, fine finishing on millwork and railings, and exterior wood maintenance, with a free on-site estimate.
Manotick asks more of a painter than most of Ottawa does. Custom builds and estate properties here have detail that a production crew simply cannot cover: real wood trim and mouldings, stained millwork, coffered and vaulted ceilings, wood windows, and site-built cabinetry. Add the older village homes near the Mill and the riverfront properties along the Rideau, and it becomes a market where cut lines and finish quality are visible at arm’s length. That is the kind of work we prefer.
Custom and semi-custom estate homes on large lots, 1990s–2025 executive builds through Mahogany and Rideau Forest, and 19th- and early 20th-century village houses near Watson’s Mill and along the Rideau.
Every community in Ottawa has its own housing stock and its own recurring problems. These are the ones we see most in Manotick.
Wainscoting, crown, coffered ceilings, built-ins and stair railings, sprayed or brushed to a finish that reads as furniture rather than construction. This is careful, slow work and we quote it that way.
A custom Manotick kitchen is worth far more than a builder kitchen, and worth refinishing rather than replacing. Doors are sprayed off-site in a dust-controlled environment, boxes are finished in place, and the result matches across every surface.
Estate and village properties here carry real wood that needs maintaining. We wash, scrape, prime bare wood, replace failed caulking and recoat — the sequence that determines whether the finish lasts three years or twelve.
Older village homes come with plaster walls, settled trim and paint history going back decades. We stabilise and repair the plaster before painting rather than skipping to the colour.

No charge, no obligation, and a written fixed price before any work starts.
No. Manotick, Greely, Kars, Osgoode and North Gower are part of our regular service area and the on-site estimate is free.
On new millwork installed alongside existing stained trim, yes — we can usually get very close by working through sample boards with you before committing to the run. Stain matching is never exact across different wood species and ages, and any painter who promises a perfect match on old wood is overselling it.
Not at all, but it does need staging rather than ladders. We plan the access before we quote so the price you get already accounts for it.
We carry $2M in liability insurance and are fully licensed and WSIB registered. Certificates are available on request before you book, which is a reasonable thing to ask any contractor working in your home.
